See privacy policy.South African Airways is in the process of taking delivery of five Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The five new aircraft will be added to the airline’s existing fleet of A330-200s, A340-200, A340-300, A340-600s and more. However, it looks like the business-class cabin on the A330-300s will be updated. The carrier posted a photo of three pilots in the cabin of the aircraft on its Facebook page:While we knew before this picture that the business-class cabin would be arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, the seats themselves are somewhat of a surprise — and a major upgrade. Whereas the business-class cabin on the A330-200 was arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration with open seats, the new cabin appears to have far superior Vantage XL business-class seats. The old business-class cabin on SAA’s A330-200.The new Vantage XL seats are fully flat and — especially compared to their predecessors — incredibly private. The seats are those that are found on SAS’ A330 in business class. When TPG Editor-in-Chief Zach Honig traveled on the product, he thoroughly enjoyed it — even more so than TAP’s A330, Swiss’ 777-300ER and Singapore’s A380. Hopefully this new, updated cabin is a sign of good things to come from South African.H/T: One Mile at a Time
