We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to travel. Additionally, keep in mind that discounted partner fares may not earn miles with US-based carriers. We are seeing very low prices on Star Alliance Airlines from New York to Stockholm (ARN). Prices this low are typically reserved for low-cost carriers like Norwegian, but United, Lufthansa, Swiss, SAS and Air Canada are all combining to offer prices as low as $348 round-trip. There are also discounted fares to Oslo (OSL), but not as low as those to ARN. This cost includes seat reservations, one checked bag, meals and valuable frequent flyer miles as well. All flights require at least one connection, but this could still be a better deal than Norwegian’s nonstops, even if the prices are comparable on several dates. We found availability from October through December, including during Thanksgiving.Airline: Star Alliance (United, Swiss, Lufthansa, SAS and Air Canada)Route: EWR and JFK to ARNCost: $348+ round-trip in economyDates: October 2016 - December 2016Booking Link: OrbitzPay With: American Express Premier Rewards Gold, Citi Prestige or Chase Sapphire PreferredHere are some examples of what you can book:Newark (EWR) to Stockholm (ARN) for $348 round-trip in October:Newark (EWR) to Stockholm (ARN) for $348 round-trip in October.New York (JFK) to Stockholm (ARN) for $372 on Swiss round-trip in November:New York (JFK) to Stockholm (ARN) for $372 round-trip in November.New York (JFK) to Stockholm (ARN) for $387 round-trip on Lufthansa in December:New York (JFK) to Stockholm (ARN) for $387 round-trip on Lufthansa in December.Maximize Your PurchaseSign up for our daily newsletterEmail addressSign upI would like to subscribe to The Points Guy newsletters and special email promotions.
