That makes them incredibly valuable given that top-tier Hyatt hotels can easily cost over $1,000 per night. But many folks would love to spend more than just two nights in a place like the Park Hyatt Sydney or the Andaz Tokyo. So is it possible to combine free nights from multiple people, and perhaps splash in a few award nights as well?The answer is yes… kind of. If you call Hyatt, you may be able to combine free nights and points on the same reservation. But you likely won’t be able to put free nights from multiple people together on one reservation. First, when you’re making all the different bookings, you’ll need to be sure you’re selecting the identical room type, and that includes the bed. If you choose a room with a King bed using points but two Queens with your free nights, it’ll be difficult if not impossible for the hotel to keep you in the same room for your entire stay. While it’s not the end of the world if you have to change rooms, it’s a lot easier if you don’t have to.Make sure to choose the same type of room across all your reservations, including the bed.You’l also want to make sure the room occupants are listed on all the reservations, especially if you’re planning to use free nights from two or more different people. It’s easy to add a second person to an existing reservation just by calling Hyatt, and that way it’ll be clear to the hotel that the same people are staying across all the different reservations.Finally, be aware that while award reservations are now eligible for upgrades, the two free nights from the Hyatt credit card sign-up bonus are not. So if you’re a Hyatt Globalist, you can add your World of Hyatt account number to the reservations for other elite perks but don’t expect to be able to use a suite upgrade.It’s possible that even if you follow all these steps, in some cases the property you’re visiting won’t be able to guarantee you the same room for your entire stay.
