Worth Airport Hyatt Regency. Hyatt is the hotel sponsor of the event, so naturally Gold Passport head Jeff Zidell addressed the crowd and unveiled their new spring promotion.I was able to snap a picture before he flipped the slide, but it’s at an angle so here’s the key information:1) The promo is based on nights, not stays2) Bonuses are cumulative, so you get each level threshold when you hit those number of nights, plus any prior bonuses3) You get a 25% bonus if you have the Chase Hyatt VisaBonuses:4 nights = 4,000 point bonus plus 1,000 if you have the credit card8 nights = 8,000 additional bonus points plus 2,000 additional if you have the credit card12 nights = 12,000 additional bonus points plus 3,000 additional if you have the credit card16 nights = 20,000 additional bonus points plus 5,000 additional if you have the credit cardTotal haul if you do 16 nights would be 44,000 plus 11,000 if you have the credit cardMy TakeThis is a pretty decent promotion, especially compared to the competition. Starwood is currently offering a double/triple promotion through April 8, 2012 that gives double points on stays of 2 nights or less and triple for 3 days or more. The Starwood promotion favors those with expensive stays that stay at least 3 nights in a row, whereas Hyatt is better for those who may have a bunch of different 1 night stays - even at cheap properties.Sign up for our daily newsletterEmail addressSign upI would like to subscribe to The Points Guy newsletters and special email promotions. See privacy policy.Hyatt also has lower thresholds for their top hotels - only 22,000 points for their nicest properties including Park Hyatt Paris and Maldives. This also gives a solid incentive to get the Hyatt Visa, which I was going to apply for anyway during my next round of credit card applications. As a Diamond member, the sign-up bonus is 2 nights in a suite after $1,000 spend within the first 3 months at any Hyatt after my first purchase. Plus, you get an additional 3 Hyatt points per dollar spent at Hyatt and the card does not have foreign transaction fees. It does have a $75 annual fee, but you get a free night at a category 1-4 night every year upon renewal, which more than pays for the annual fee.Current Platinum members get 2 award nights and two suite upgrades after first purchase.Non-elites get 1 night free after first purchase and another night after spending $1,000 within 3 months.Hyatt Card Sign-up Bonuses Based on Elite Status
