The reptile appeared to be a young Indian krait – one of the most venomous snakes in the southwest India region. The traveler claimed he had purchased the potatoes from a local farmer and had stashed away the purchase for his trip to Abu Dhabi. Although the passenger initially was arrested for smuggling the snake, he later was released when law enforcement determined that the passenger did not appear to have known about his venomous stowaway.Featured photo by DeAgostini/Getty Images.
