If you’re flying in or out of Boston (BOS) or Atlanta (ATL) with JetBlue today and your first name starts with the letters P-A-T, some good news: JetBlue, the official airline of the New England Patriots, is issuing credits for the cost of your flight in or out of the two airports.So You’re a Pat, What Now?According to JetBlue, in order to be eligible the first three letters of the first name on your JetBlue booking must be “P-A-T” and you must be traveling at least one way on Sunday, February 3, 2019, into or out of BOS or ATL....

The program definitely has its downsides- with the advent of one-way awards, they took away the ability to build in stopovers on awards and they also charge hefty surcharges on BA awards....

Although AccorHotels finished fifth in TPG’s 2018 best hotel loyalty programs list, and the Fairmont brand was folded into the AccorHotels brand in July 2018, Accor is still relatively unknown by most US-based travelers. Accor is seemingly trying to change this by offering a daily-entry contest this month.The grand prize is a trip for two to the Fairmont Orchid in Hawaii. The trip consists of round-trip economy air transportation for the winner and a guest from a major airport nearest to the winner’s home to Waikoloa, HI, and hotel accommodations for five nights at the Fairmont Orchid....

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that all U.S. airlines and pilots were barred from flying over Iraq, Iran and the Persian Gulf amid increasing tensions between the U.S. and Iran.The agency said it was concerned about the “potential for miscalculation or misidentification,” according to the AP.“The Federal Aviation Administration issued Notices to Airmen (NOTAMS) tonight outlining flight restrictions that prohibit U.S. civil aviation operators from operating in the airspace over Iraq, Iran, and the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman,” the FAA said in a statement....

U.S. airlines accepting CARES Act grants are currently forbidden from implementing involuntary furloughs to reduce headcount, but that requirement currently only runs through Sept. 30. This October is not going to be pretty — that’s when we’re expecting airlines to begin laying off and furloughing employees, given that demand has yet to recover, and likely won’t return to pre-coronavirus levels for years to come.In the meantime, several airlines have been actively attempting to persuade employees to voluntarily step away from their jobs, offering perks like cash compensation, health benefits and even years of free travel, with the hopes that more pilots, flight attendants, airport workers and other employees will sign up to leave on their own....

This week, United’s very first Newark-Cape Town flight touched down in South Africa, after months of anticipation and a festive inaugural celebration at Newark Liberty International Airport and onboard the roughly 14-hour flight.Many TPG readers seemed surprised to see United Airlines operate the flight with its dated 2-2-2 business class, though — which, unfortunately, remains the one and only option on some of the carrier’s most high-profile routes.United currently offers 2-2-2 seating on the 787-9....

We may have just found the best job in the world.The St. Regis Aspen is looking for someone to take care of its adorable Bernese mountain dog, Kitty. (Yup, the dog’s name is Kitty.) In fact, there’s a whole story behind the name, too. John Jacob Astor IV founded the St. Regis in 1904 and named his dog Kitty. The current Kitty arrived in Aspen last September, and was officially announced at the hotel’s annual Tree Lighting Ritual to celebrate the holidays....

ITB Berlin — the self-proclaimed “World’s Leading Travel Trade Show” — just finished its third day. After a banner year in 2017, this go round was a bit of a disappointment. Last year featured the unveiling of Qatar’s Qsuite and a full-sized model of Emirates’ new on-board bar. This year, there were no major unveilings. Also, some key players — such as Emirates and Etihad — had almost no presence. That said, there were some nice products being shown off that visitors could try out for themselves....
