If you’re a frequent TPG reader, you probably have some great credit cards for foreign travel. Almost certainly, you know how to get around without paying pesky foreign transaction fees, so your travels abroad should be pretty seamless from a payment perspective.But, if you’re headed to Europe, beware: not all chip cards are created equal, and your card may be declined in some places, including while trying to make in-flight purchases on certain airlines, as TPG himself experienced on Ryanair....

Earlier this month, Google released new flight and hotel search features, and now it’s adding vacation rentals to the mix. Starting on Wednesday, you can go to Google’s Hotel Search on a mobile device and find vacation rentals alongside your favorite points and boutique properties. The experience will expand to desktop searches in the next few months.Unlike Airbnb, Google is focused on entire unit rentals (think: whole homes, apartments, villas), so searches won’t show rooms for rent within larger apartments or homes....

The newly announced Airbus A321XLR aircraft officially has its fourth customer. After being announced as the latest aircraft in the Airbus A320 family on Monday at the Paris Air Show, International Airline Group (IAG) has placed an order for 14 A321XLRs.IAG, the parent company of British Airways, Aer Lingus, Vueling and Level, said eight of the A321XLRs are heading to Iberia and six are going to Aer Lingus.With the 5,400-mile mile range of the A321XLR, both Aer Lingus and Iberia will be able to extend their respective route networks with the narrow-body aircraft....

American Airlines’ AAdvantage program includes partnerships with Oneworld airlines along with some notable carriers that aren’t full alliance members, including Air Tahiti Nui and Fiji Airways. This morning, it briefly appeared that one of these partnerships was coming to an end, as One Mile at a Time noted that Etihad had been pulled from American’s list of partners on AA.com. An aircraft operating a regional flight out of Indiana’s Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) slid on ice while taxiing for takeoff and came to a stop in a snow bank Tuesday night.Passengers on SkyWest flight 3526, which was operating as Delta Connection to Atlanta, had to deplane the Bombardier CRJ-200ER and were transferred to the terminal. There were reportedly no injuries after the incident.In an email to TPG, a spokesperson for SkyWest said the plane “encountered ice on slow taxi for departure and came to a stop in a snow bank on the taxiway....
