View the current offers here.Like many other airlines, Delta puts some of its jumbo jets to use on domestic flights between its longer hauls so that it doesn’t have aircraft sitting idle — the idea is to keep a plane flying for as much of the day as possible, and thus generate income from it for as much time as possible. That’s how I found myself aboard one of the airline’s longest of long-haul jets, the 777-200LR, on a recent flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to Atlanta (ATL) as part of a longer itinerary....

I even shed a tear as it reached its crescendo.In celebration of its centenary year, Qantas has revealed a new inflight safety video, taking us through the years with painstaking attention to detail in recreating the aircraft, airports and uniforms of eras gone by since the 1920s. US airlines are pretty good about awarding credit automatically after passengers complete travel, but it’s not unusual to expect redeemable miles, elite-qualifying miles and elite-qualifying dollars to post at least a couple days after each flight segment. Delta has been an exception — credits sometimes post within a day of travel — and now United’s following suit, with the airline explaining that “miles will now post within minutes of a flight arriving at the gate for United/United Express flights....

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded $485 million in Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grants to 108 airports in 48 states, along with Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands. An Ethiopian Airlines jet crashed shortly after takeoff Sunday, killing all 157 people onboard and bringing tragedy to an airline that was a rising star in Africa’s long-troubled aviation industry.The crash marks the second fatal accident for Boeing’s popular new 737 MAX in less than five months, and is a sharp blow to an airline that was riding the waves of rapid growth.
