A regional jet slid off a runway in Chicago on Monday as an early dose of wintry weather created headaches for travelers there and elsewhere in the region.American Airlines confirmed that an Embraer E145 regional jet flying for one of its American Eagle affiliates encountered difficulties after arriving to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) from Greensboro (GSO), North Carolina, at 7:43 a.m. local time.“After landing, American Eagle flight 4125, operated by Envoy Air, slid off the runway due to icy conditions at Chicago O’Hare,” American said in a statement to TPG....

A great way to mitigate the inconvenience is to duck away into a lounge at a connecting airport, which is what I did recently when a trip from Casablanca (CMN) to Los Angeles (LAX) put me through a layover in Lisbon (LIS) and an even longer one in Newark (EWR), home of the Art & Lounge....

SAS says it will take a few days for things to return to normal so some disruptions may still occur....

Only hours before Boeing’s 787-10 Dreamliner made its maiden voyage on Friday, Airbus flew its updated A319neo for the first time. The flight took off from the Airbus Finkenwerder facility in Hamburg, Germany at 11:13am local time, and flew down to the company’s headquarters in Toulouse, France.During the flight, pilots Michel Gagneux and Eckard Hausser tested the handling of the aircraft and checked its main systems.The odd thing about this isn’t only that Airbus chose to make this first flight on the same day as the brand-new Boeing, but that the two companies handled these notable events very differently....
