Southwest, American, Spirit, JetBlue and even Royal Caribbean have all clamped down on emotional support animals, but it’s Delta that has thrown down the hardest. Back in March, the airline began requiring that all passengers traveling with a support or service animal provide additional documents, outlining the need for the service animal as well as proof of the animal’s training and vaccinations, 48 hours prior to departure....

After spending weeks and months building up your stash of miles, it can be pretty difficult to figure out which airlines make for a worthy redemption. JonNYC tweeted about SWU’s being deposited into some lucky member’s accounts....

JetBlue and Southwest Airlines have moved operations at San Francisco International (SFO) to the airport’s new Harvey Milk Terminal 1. Overnight from Monday to Tuesday, the two airlines shifted their gates to the new terminal, which is part of the overall Terminal 1.JetBlue said its first service from the new facility — flight 16 to New York JFK — departed this morning, from gate B6. That B6 also happens to be airline’s two-letter code, so it would have been “flight B6 16 departing from gate B6....

United Airlines reputation for mishandling dogs is unfair, according to a Washington Post study. In fact, it appears more dogs die on United flights because, perversely, the airline is a better— and often the only — choice for humans’ best friend.Diving into Department of Transportation data, the newspaper found that though the hard numbers seem to damn the airline — 75% of dog deaths on 2017 occurred on United — much of that is because the airline is the only one that will agree to transport dogs that are prone to respiratory issues....

Quietly, the airline has rolled out a new app and communication platform dubbed Flight Family Communication, enabling employees assigned to a specific flight to “have the ability to communicate directly with one another about the status of dozens of tasks and customer service items required before departure.“In some ways, it’s Delta taking the best of a communications platform like Slack and an issues management tool like Jira to create a proprietary system for managing the complexities of flight operations....

Low-budget carrier Norwegian is adding nonstop service between Paris and Austin, the first connection to Paris for the fast-growing Texas airport.The carrier will operate a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner three times weekly beginning May 6, 2020, and twice-weekly starting September 25, 2020 from Charles de Gaulle (CDG) to AUS. The news was first reported by Routes Online.The carrier already operates an Austin to London Gatwick (LGW) route that launched in 2018. The Paris route can be booked directly on Norwegian’s website, with fares hovering around $250 one-way and $470 round-trip....
