In early October 2017, we visited the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar using Hyatt points and found it to be a new, beautiful, points-friendly, oceanside resort located in the Bahamas about 15 minutes from the airport in Nassau. My mom, my daughters, and I loved our long weekend there and have enjoyed sharing our experience in a number of posts and even a video linked below. In the final post in this series, we’ll talk about the Kid’s Club and look at some of the food costs and menus at on-site Baha Mar restaurants....

We’re living in exceptional times, especially when it comes to travel. As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and an unprecedented drop in demand, airlines have been forced to cancel countless flights all around the world, often only a few days in advance.One practice we’ve seen play out often is that airlines will “zero out” a flight, while leaving it intact for customers with existing reservations. Employing that particular workflow, carriers are able to avoid having customers book a flight that they intend to cancel, while keeping existing bookings active, in an effort to avoid overwhelming automated rebooking systems, as we explain in much more detail here....

Mitsubishi rebranded its regional jet just ahead of the 2019 Paris Air Show, and we had a chance to tour the manufacturer’s new “SpaceJet” at the event itself — well, a cabin mock-up, at least.No, this new plane doesn’t fly at far higher altitudes, and it certainly won’t be leaving earth’s atmosphere. Mitsubishi’s landed on the name to emphasize the cabin’s spacious feel, with two variants. There’s the larger M90, which we’ve previously toured as the “Mitsubishi Regional Jet,” and a smaller version, the M100, which is far more likely to appeal to carriers in the US....

View the current offers here: United Explorer CardAmerican and Delta devalued their higher-tier “standard” awards long ago — in the case of American’s AAdvantage program, that’s enabled some truly shocking redemption levels, like the 75,000 one-way domestic economy awards we saw last year over Thanksgiving. Now it’s United’s turn to make some… adjustments.Fortunately the results won’t be nearly as egregious — United’s new “Everyday Awards,” which replace standard redemptions, will be capped, though the rates will fluctuate up to the new upper limit, just as they do with AA and Delta....

Since 2005, festivalgoers from around the globe have gathered in Boom, Belgium, for Tomorrowland, one of the world’s largest EDM festivals. A once-defunct Banksy mural has made its way back into the public eye in New Orleans this month, for this first time in over a decade.The artwork, created by the famously elusive British street artist, is a 1,600-pound graffiti mural Nola.com said is, “as important to the New Orleans zeitgeist as NOMA’s portrait of Marie Antoinette ever was.“So, you can imagine, there’s quite a story behind it.Just as Hurricane Gustav threatened the city in August 2008, New Orleans was hit with a barrage of Banksy stencil paintings produced by him and a few alleged assistants....

It’s been an incredibly sad day for the family and friends of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 passengers and crew, and the aviation community as a whole.Naturally, Sunday’s tragic crash — the second in less than five months — has put Boeing and its 737 MAX program back into the spotlight as well. China has grounded all 737 MAX aircraft and it’s likely that other airlines and countries will follow suit in the coming days and weeks pending a full investigation into the Ethiopian Airlines crash and a safety review of the plane’s design and operating procedures....
