At IHG, it’s the last straw for, well, straws.Late last week, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) announced a new eco-friendly plan to remove plastic straws from all properties worldwide by 2019. The company has already started the initiative and has removed the straws from nearly 1,000 IHG hotels in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.A ban on the single-use plastic straws across the 5,400 IHG-branded hotels will eliminate approximately 50 million plastic straws each year....

Once award tickets are booked, they really have nothing to do with your credit card. With airline co-branded cards, even if you cancel the card, you will keep the miles that are already in your account, they are not going to take them back from you....

A drunk and unruly WestJet passenger that caused a plane diversion has been ordered to repay the airliner $21,260.68 for wasted fuel.David Stephen Young, a UK native, boarded a flight to London in Calgary on Jan. 4 after consuming about six drinks while waiting in the airport. According to CBC News, Young was drunk and belligerent and repeatedly tried to get up during take-off to use the lavatory. After arguing with the flight crew and a fellow passenger, the decision was made to turn back to Calgary....
