Dutch airline KLM, which recently celebrated its centennial, began renovating its flagship Crown Lounge at Amsterdam Schiphol in 2017 and has been completing the work in phases in the two years since.Among the changes are an enormous expansion that will eventually increase the total area from 38,750 square feet to 73,195 square feet and seating capacity from 800 to 1,500 guests. The lounge already features a new à la carte restaurant and an outdoor viewing deck from which visitors can planespot....

Boeing has finalized a deal to buy a majority stake in Brazilian plane maker Embraer’s commercial operations for $4.2 billion, the companies announced on Monday.Embraer manufactures workhorse regional jets like the E-175 and E-190. According to the deal, Chicago-based Boeing will buy an 80% stake of Embraer’s commercial aircraft and services and take over operational and management control of those sectors. Embraer will keep the remaining 20% stake, as well as consent rights for some decisions, which would include moving any of the operations from Brazil....

Fiji Airways announced earlier this year that it would be taking delivery of two A350-900s to add to its long-haul fleet. Now, for the first time, we are getting a look inside the plane, which features a stunning new business class cabin in addition to sleek economy seating.The two aircraft will feature 33 of the Collins Aerospace Super Diamond, fully lie-flat Business Class beds, in a 1-2-1 configuration. These seats are already in use by Virgin Australia, Air Canada, and Qatar Airways....

Airbus planes will now be divided into three types: small, medium and large. But that has little to do with their size.Airbus predicted the global aviation industry would need almost 40,000 new planes in the next 20 years, according to a market forecast released Wednesday. The New Year is upon us and United Airlines is going out with a bang: The airline announced via Twitter that it’s bringing back the super popular stroopwafel.The treat was first introduced in 2015, when United reintroduced complimentary snacks in economy. For two and a half years, the stroopwafel was a popular staple for United flyers. However, the airline abruptly discounted serving the sweet treat in June.Now, after passengers voiced their concerns over the missing snack, United has decided to reintroduce the stroopwafel this coming January....
