Come April 2019, two West Coast cities will be getting new year-round service to Milan (MXP), thanks to Air Italy’s new flights to Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO). Currently, Los Angeles has nonstop service to Rome (FCO) on both Alitalia and Norwegian, but this new Milan nonstop will be the only connection between Italy and SFO.Both new flights will be operated by Air Italy’s A330-200s — while the aircraft I flew between MXP and New York had angle-flat seats, the version serving these two new destinations reportedly offers 24 lie-flat seats in business class, in addition to 228 seats in economy....

An Aeromexico Boeing 737-800 aircraft sustained significant damage after a mid-air collision shortly before landing in Tijuana on Wednesday. Airline officials are investigating whether the plane crashed into a drone while making its approach into the Mexican airport.As the cockpit crew was descending the aircraft, which was operating Aeromexico flight 773 from Guadalajara, they heard a “pretty loud bang,” according to Bloomberg. Pictures of the plane from local media show the 737’s nose completely crushed....

On Wednesday, the newest airport terminal in the U.S. will open: the new 35-gate facility at New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport. Overnight, all operations will move from the old terminal to the new one on the north side of the MSY airport.Delta’s newest Sky Club opens there on the same day. Delta is MSY’s number two airline, with up to 25 daily flights, and boasts the only airline lounge at the airport for now....

I wanted to fly Vietnam Airlines’ A350, but on the other hand, I had award availability through London. Considering I’d never done a trip on the Eurostar train from London to Paris, I figured it would be a great opportunity to cross that off my list....

Though the limited footprint isn’t the key factor that has kept me from trying out the brand. United has confirmed to TPG that it suspended its Newark (EWR) - Mumbai (BOM) route effective this evening and until further notice after conducting a safety and security review of India service flying through Iranian airspace. When you check on the status of United flight 49 from EWR - BOM on United.com, airspace restrictions over Western Asia are cited as the reason for the cancellation.This announcement follows United’s decision to suspend Newark (EWR)- New Delhi (DEL) service, which occurred in April of this year....
It’s official! Well, almost official, at least. As CEO Oscar Munoz hinted last month, United Airlines is gearing up to unveil a brand new fleet-wide livery. The airline has kept a very tight lid on the new design. Several mock-ups have leaked in the weeks that followed, but none appear to be authentic.We’ll know for sure next week, though. United just sent out invitations for its big livery unveiling, scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, at one of the carrier’s Chicago O’Hare (ORD) hangars....

Timeshares have gotten such a bad rap that timeshare “vacation ownership” companies are getting more aggressive in their advertising and desperate with their offers. For years, timeshare companies have offered bonus points and/or a cheap stay somewhere in exchange for sitting through a timeshare presentation, but these offers have generally been targeted to individual members.Now, we’re seeing more hotel timeshare partnerships offering “preview” packages to all hotel loyalty members. For example, last November, Choice Privileges members were offered “80% Off 7-Night Resort Stay”: $499 for a 7-night stay at a Bluegreen Vacations property plus a $100 gift card and 10,000 Choice points....

It’s announced that it will be adding a new route connecting Northern California and New York, is expanding service between Seattle (SEA) and New York (JFK) and will finally be opening its lounge at JFK.Alaska said the new lounge will be open to the public in “late April” in JFK’s Terminal 7, which recently received a $65 million investment form British Airways to renovate the tired space....
