Eight people believed to have measles received warnings from federal health officials that they could be barred from flying while possibly infected with the ultra-contagious disease, The Washington Post reports.The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) was notified of eight potential measles cases from health officials in New York, California, Illinois, Texas and Washington. The individuals suspected of having measles were booked to fly on commercial flights, but the federal government warned they could not fly and threatened to place them on the Do Not Board list, managed by the CDC....

A senior pilot and safety director for Air India was found to be drunk before he was supposed to take the helm of a flight from New Delhi (DEL) to London (LHR) on Sunday.The pilot, Arvind Kathpalia, failed two breathalyzer tests before Sunday afternoon’s flight AI 111 was scheduled for takeoff. It is unclear what the pilot’s blood alcohol level was. The newest commercial airport in the US began operations when Alaska Airlines flight 2777 took off, bound for Las Vegas. Technically it’s a re-opening, in fact, with a brand-new terminal, after the airport closed to commercial traffic during World War II.Located about 30 miles north of downtown Seattle, the new airport’s stated goal is to return civility to air travel....
Boeing’s 737 MAX program got a shot in the arm Monday as SunExpress exercised an option to add 10 more of the planes to its fleet.The carrier, which is a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, serves holiday destinations from Europe and Turkey.The SunExpress order comes as the global fleet of 737 MAX jets remains grounded following fatal crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia. An automated flight control system is suspected of contributing to both disasters, and Boeing has been working with regulators and other industry stakeholders to resolve the issue and get the planes flying again....
