So you missed your business-class flight, and you’re stuck in a cramped economy seat. Now what? Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers quarterback, recently found himself in that situation. The football star offered a fellow passenger $1,500 to give up his exit-row seat with more legroom. However, the traveler declined Newton’s offer, reports CNN.In a video tweeted by fellow passenger Eli Edwards, Newton is seen talking to a passenger sitting in an emergency-exit aisle seat who’s shaking his head no....

Earlier this month, the Bahamas were hit very hard by Hurricane Dorian with winds up to 185 miles per hour at landfall — the destruction was deadly. Weeks later, at least 50 people have been confirmed dead and 1,300 remain missing.The northern part of the archipelago, including the Abaco Islands and Grand Bahama, endured the brunt of the hit while destinations such as Nassau, the capital, were fairly unscathed. However, many residents who were displaced have been forced to seek refuge in the less-affected parts of the Bahamas, so all areas of the island nation are in need of resources, whether it’s food, water, money or help with the cleanup efforts....

BLADE Continuous, the service that offers helicopter rides between Manhattan and New York City’s three major airports, has launched two new annual passes in limited quantities.BLADE Continuous currently flies passengers from Manhattan to New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport, LaGuardia Airport in Queens and JFK Airport for $195 per person per trip....

On Sept. 24, 2019, Brex announced the addition of a new transfer partner to its rewards program: JetBlue.With the addition of JetBlue, Brex customers will be able to transfer points directly through the Brex rewards dashboard and access thousands of JetBlue flights (including JetBlue’s Mint business class routes) directly — which is quite the game-changer for the Brex rewards program....

The SkyTeam alliance is losing one of its member airlines. Effective Jan. 1, 2019, China Southern will leave the alliance, instead choosing to meet the needs of its own development strategy.According to a source at the airline and reported by Reuters, the airline is leaving because it believes it’s too expensive to be a member of the alliance, relative to the benefits it gets in return for being a member. The source added that the airline will consider joining the Oneworld alliance, but it has not yet made a decision....

After weeks of defending a bizarre “interview” with actress Drew Barrymore in its inflight magazine, EgyptAir is backing down and pulling the issue of the magazine, Horus, from circulation.Egyptian officials told the AP that the airline and its publisher, Al-Ahram advertising agency, have agreed to stop printing the October issue of the magazine and also pull the ones already on board EgyptAir’s aircraft.The questionable interview seemed fake from the get-go, especially because Barrymore’s reps have said that she “did not participate” in the interview with the magazine, Horus, and that they were “working with the airline PR team....

Miami may not have the same appeal to New York snowbirds these days.During a Monday press conference, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced a new executive order mandating that visitors coming to his state by air from New York, New Jersey or Connecticut observe a 14-day quarantine upon arrival. The governor said he’s singling out those states because they are the current epicenter of the pandemic in the U.S. and many people travel from between the Northeast and South Florida....

Travelers passing through Oakland International Airport (OAK) can now access new private workspace pods. The pods are designed and operated by the tech startup Jabbrrbox.
