On Monday, it snowed in Maui.Uncharacteristic of its usual sunny climate, Hawaii was hit with a winter storm earlier this week that caused intense winds, surges of rain, high tides and, as mentioned above, snow.https://www.instagram.com/p/BtuHW1EnVAR/The snow hit the Polipoli State Park in Maui (and is forecasted to appear in some other areas on the island as well) with drifts up to 4-feet. While it’s not unheard of for the island’s mountain regions, such as Haleakalā, which receives a bit of snow in the winter months, this may be the lowest elevation in which snow has been recorded in Hawaii’s history....

Transport for London said on Monday that it will not grant Uber a new license to operate in London.According to a press release, Transport for London (TfL) said that the ride-hailing app was not “fit and proper” as a company to continue operating in the city. The organization said that Uber made a number of changes to its company culture and security measures, but it had not done enough to extend the license....

I’ve flown through both Dubai (DXB) and Abu Dhabi (AUH) several times but never managed to stop properly and explore the area. American Airlines customers could be caught in the crossfire this summer as the already acrimonious relationship between management and mechanics appears to be deteriorating.The latest sign of escalation came Monday, when the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) and Transport Workers Union (TWU) took out a full-page ad Monday in The Wall Street Journal. The ad screamed “INVESTORS BEWARE” before going on to bash management.The union accused American’s top executives of adopting an “Un-American business plan” that includes a wish to send maintenance jobs out of the county....

Step aside, “New Coke.” Coca-Cola has a new shockingly bad ad campaign to top the list.Passengers aboard Delta Air Lines flights were unpleasantly surprised to come upon some suggestive napkins as a part of a new promotion. “Because you’re on a plane with interesting people and hey … you never know” was written on one side of the Diet Coke napkins. The other side featured a spot for passengers to write their name and phone number with the suggestion to “be a little old school....

Air travel to, from or through Europe is flourishing. On Monday, Routesonline unveiled at its annual Routes Europe conference the busiest routes that operate to, from or within the region.Eight out of the top 10 routes are from London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR). And with nearly 3 million passengers in 2018, LHR to New York’s Kennedy Airport (JFK) takes the top spot, with a 1.8% increase in passengers year-over-year. In 2018, LHR-JFK was the first route globally to generate $1 billion in revenues....
