Flybe is reported to have entered into survival talks for emergency financing with the British Government amid financial difficulties.Sky News reports that accountancy firm EY has been put on standby to help the airline through potential a type of bankruptcy if needed. Qantas has been working on refurbishing the interiors of its 12 Airbus A380 aircraft. Now, the first updated A380 will begin operating Qantas’ flagship LondonHeathrow to Sydney route via Singapore, starting next week.As previously reported by TPG, the refurbishment means a big upgrade for business-class passengers who are used to an older-generation Skybed MK2 in a 2-2-2 layout on the airline’s A380, with minimal storage and privacy.U.S. travelers should keep an eye open for updates, too....

Airlines in the United Kingdom are responding after a report suggested that the key to reducing carbon emissions was banning airline miles and mileage runs.Imperial College London for the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) last week published a report calling for a ban on airline miles and a levy on frequent flyers. The report suggests that emissions from one return ticket from London to New York are roughly equivalent to that of heating a typical home for a year....

Once in a while there will be an odd hotel promotion, but never have I seen a car rental promotion offering airline elite miles.Leave it to Delta to be the first to offer 250 Medallion Qualifying Miles On rentals of 3 or more days booked and completed before November 30, 2012....
