Shortly after Asiana stopped selling tickets for its first-class cabins on all flights after August 31, the South Korean carrier announced on Tuesday that new “Business Suites” will replace its former first-class product. It appwars, however, that these will be the same seats, but with a different name and a lower standard of service.Asiana only offered first class on its Airbus A380s, so the new Business Suites will be only available on routes the super-jumbos fly, which include flights between Seoul’s Incheon Airport and Los Angeles, New York JFK and Frankfurt....

However, they also announced an annual fee increase on the Delta Platinum card to $195 from the current $150. In addition, over the past couple years they’ve made tweaks to the cards, including getting rid of the Gold card companion ticket and instituting a waiver for cardholders to be exempt from the new Medallion® Qualifying Dollars program if you spend $25,000 in a calendar year on your card....

In the wake of Sunday’s fatal crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302, with a Boeing 737 MAX 8 nose-diving into the ground minutes after takeoff and killing all 157 people on board, Ethiopian’s safety record is under heightened scrutiny.But both the airline, and the nation as a whole, have a history of excellent safety on a continent where aviation practices can sometimes be dicey. The US Federal Aviation Administration gives Ethiopia a Category 1 safety rating, the organization’s highest, which means it can operate flights to the US, which it does....

Every other month, we at TPG go through American Airlines’ schedule to find all of the internationally-configured wide-body aircraft that AA is flying domestically. These flights are great for getting a spacious lie-flat seat rather than a standard recliner seat in business class, and most aircraft have in-flight entertainment screens and in-seat power in economy.However, there’s two notable wide-body AAircraft AAdditions that are coming up in 2019 that are worth highlighting: American Airlines is scheduling internationally-configured Dreamliners on flights to Cancun this winter/spring and Anchorage in the summer....

Delta reported full-year 2018 revenue and earnings Tuesday morning, which were mostly in line with analyst estimates. However, the airline is warning investors about slowing growth in first-quarter 2019 as the government shutdown is hitting the airline’s bottom line.From October to December 2018, Delta reported more than $10.7 billion in revenue and $1.3 billion in pre-tax earnings. Nebraska’s attorney general announced that he plans to sue Hilton, alleging that the chain’s “deceptive and misleading pricing practices” violated Nebraska’s consumer protection laws.“The lawsuit wants to make Hilton advertise the true prices of its hotel rooms upfront, pay civil penalties, and “provide monetary relief to harmed Nebraska consumers.““For years, Hilton has misled consumers in Nebraska regarding the true cost of certain Hilton hotel rooms,” Attorney General Doug Peterson (R) said in a statement on July 23....
