A Scoot Airlines flight from Gold Coast Airport (OOL) to Singapore (SIN) had to divert to Sydney on Monday when a drunk man became physically violent and began lashing out at other passengers and crew. The incident occurred less than two hours into flight TR7 and resulted in the man being physically restrained.Fellow passenger, Rico David Garilli, caught the entire ordeal on video.According to Garilli’s caption, the trouble apparently started brewing after the man “started drinking heavy” following an announcement that the flight was going to be delayed....

Passengers flying international long-haul on American Airlines out of New York’s John F. Kennedy airport may now have a slightly higher chance of an upgrade, thanks to new aircraft that the carrier is putting on the routes. As of March 31st, American is exclusively flying widebody Boeing 777s, with larger premium cabins, to international long-haul destinations from JFK. That means more potential seats for miles and systemwide upgrades.The last non-777 departure to Europe or South America out of JFK operated by American Airlines was on March 30th to Madrid, on a Boeing 767-300....

American Airlines is adding two destinations to its route map, part of a 16-route expansion that the carrier announced for its winter schedule.Half of the new services are domestic routes within the US mainland while the other half connect American’s hubs to destinations in the Caribbean and Mexico. Last year, American Express made an incredibly positive change to its refer-a-friend program. Instead of only being allowed to refer from one card to the same product, it was suddenly possible to refer friends to a wide variety of Membership Rewards earning and cobranded credit cards. Having already completed an expansion in Seattle (SEA), Amex announced Monday that it plans to offer loungegoers more space and additional amenities at its DFW location, which will force a change in lounge location.Currently, the DFW Centurion Lounge is located in Terminal D opposite gate D17 on the mezzanine level of the terminal....

The flight decks of two ill-fated Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets that belonged to Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines lacked safety features that could have helped pilots identify the source of erratic speed and altitude changes in the moments before both fatal crashes.According to a report in The New York Times, the planes lacked the safety features because Boeing charged additional fees to install them on the MAX aircraft. Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines reportedly did not opt to purchase these two additional features....
