View the current offers here.Looks like US air travel is dealing with a “case of the Mondays.” Weather is causing flight delays and cancellations from sea to shining sea. Current FAA weather advisories are in effect for all three New York City airports (EWR/JFK/LGA), Philadelphia (PHL) and San Francisco (SFO).But the airport dealing with the worst delays right now is Atlanta (ATL) where about half of flights between 11am and 3pm are delayed:So far Monday, FlightAware has chalked up 2,720 delays and another 521 cancellations of US flights. 654 of those delays are flights to/from Atlanta and 115 of the cancellations are flights to/from Newark.It looks like things are going to get worse before they get better in the Northeast. JFK’s FAA ground delay program doesn’t start until 3pm Eastern and Philadelphia flight limitations go into affect at 4pm Eastern. The JFK limitations are expected to cause average delays of 130 minutes (2:10 hours).Several airlines have released travel waivers for these storms. And, if you’ve got a flexible schedule, you’ll want to take advantage of these waivers. After all, if you can’t delay your itinerary, airlines aren’t going to be responsible for paying for your meals or hotels in the case of weather-related delays/cancellations.
