If that doesn’t happen, however, you’ll now be able to select a free food item from United’s Choice Menu, in addition to the free drink already available to United’s top-tier elites. The news came in the form of a FlyerTalk post, with a United rep confirming the change. An excerpt of United’s Choice Menu.According to the post, 1K and GS members will be able to select one Choice Menu food item on all United and United Express flights within North America (including those super-long flights to Hawaii). You may be required to show proof of your status, via either a printed membership card, a digital membership card or your boarding pass. Choice Menu items can run as high as $9.99, so this is a pretty decent perk, especially for those of you scoring super-cheap fares. Thanks to TPG reader Niko G., who shared this news tip by emailing tpgtips@thepointsguy.com.
