I had paid for my ticket, but I viewed this as chance to share tips with entrepreneurs and talk about the value proposition of The Business Platinum Card from American Express OPEN, which has changed the game for me, in no small part due to the 50% rebate when you use Pay with Points for airfare booked through Amex Travel.
Not a huge cruise fan (I hit my head on too many things), but I can’t help but marvel at the magnitude of these floating beasts ? Pictured- @norwegiancruiseline Escape which I’ve been on for #summitatsea A photo posted by Brian Kelly (@thepointsguy) on Nov 11, 2016 at 3:19pm PST
Some of the most engaging topics emerged when I fielded questions from the audience—with the help of Audrey Hendley, SVP for all Global Commercial Card Products and Consulting Services at American Express.First, I was asked for tips on the best way to spend 350,000 Amex Membership Rewards points. That answer is a no-brainer: one of my all-time favorite redemptions of Amex points is for flights in Singapore Suites — they’re by far one of the best products in the sky. Next, I was asked a question about the best time of year to redeem points. I explained why it’s best to use points when you need to travel last minute. Airlines often raise prices significantly on tickets as the departure dates near knowing that business travelers sometimes have to buy tickets at the last minute; their companies have no choice but to pay the higher prices. Finally, someone asked what I consider to be my craziest/best redemption ever. I love giving the gift of travel to my employees, so I flew my assistant and her boyfriend in first class to Bali.
